Tennis Inks Three for 2026 Signing Class

Mean Green set to add three elite players, including two of the top 10 players in the state of Texas
DENTON – UNT head tennis coach Amanda Stone announced the addition of three elite level signees to the roster for 2026, Friday, including two of the top 10 players in the state of Texas.
The Mean Green announced the additions of Ujin Batsukh, Maya Chen and Zimora McKnight as the three-person signing class.
"We worked long and hard on really nailing this 2026 class, and I think we hit it out of the park," head coach Amanda Stone said. "Landing Maya and Zimora, two of our top recruits in this class, is incredible. Not only are they stand out juniors in the state and in the nation and bring great competitive energy, but they really believe in where we can take Mean Green tennis on a national stage. Maybe equally exciting is Ujin, Maya and Zimora are all top doubles players. Among the three of them they've earned a lot of hardware at the highest levels. The future is locked and ready to go and it's looking bright."
Both Chen and McKnight are currently rated as top-10 players in the state of Texas. It is the first time in program history UNT has signed two players inside the top-10 in th state.
Batsukh, a 2025 spring graduate out of Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, is set to join the squad in January of 2026 and will be immediately eligible to compete with the squad this spring. She will become the eighth member of the UNT roster for duals this season. One of the top junior players in the country, Batsukh represented Mongolia in the Billy Jean Cup and was a member of the Mongolian National team.
Out of Edinburg, Texas, Chen will be joining the Mean Green in August of 2026. Currently a four-star prospect according to Tennis Recruiting Network, Chen is ranked as the No. 10 player in the state of Texas and No. 87 player in the nation. Her freshman season at Edinburg North High School, Chen took home the bronze medal at the UIL 6A state tennis meet. In her junior career, Chen competed in all four USTA Gold Ball events and took home first place at the USTA Girls 18 Doubles Slam in Plano this fall.
McKnight, meanwhile, will also join UNT in August of 2026 and rounds out the class as one of the highest rated recruits in the history of the program. A five-star prospect out of McKinney, Texas, McKnight is rated as the No. 50 overall player in the country and the No. 4 player in the state of Texas. Per Tennis Recruiting Network, McKnight has an impressive 12 wins over junior five star prospects. In 2024, McKnight took home second place in the L1 USTA Easter Bowl Championships at Indian Wells. She also won the L2 singles and doubles titles at the USTA Championship in February of 2025.
With the addition of Batsukh to the roster, the Mean Green will start the 2025 spring campaign with their sites set on competing for an American Conference title.
