DENTON, Texas – Mean Green softball closes its five-game homestand Wednesday at 6 p.m. versus Tarleton State on ESPN+ from Lovelace Stadium. Fans can purchase tickets HERE.
UNT (17-7, 1-2 AAC) won its first conference game of the season over Charlotte on Friday before dropping the next two games by a narrow margin of three total runs. For the weekend, junior Tatum Sparks led the team with eight hits, six runs scored, two home runs and 15 total bases.
The Mean Green will host Tarleton State (14-10, 1-2 WAC) for a non-conference midweek after the Texans salvaged a one-win conference weekend at Southern Utah on Saturday.
North Texas holds a 4-1 advantage in the all-time series and have won each of the past three meetings, including a home victory on April 4, 2023. In the last game against the Texans, then-redshirt freshman Sparks finished 2-for-3 with one run scored while RHP Skylar Savage collected the win after she threw six innings with three strikeouts.
The game marks the beginning of a home-and-home series versus Tarleton State as the Mean Green are scheduled to visit Stephenville on April 8.
For the duration of the 2025 season, fans are encouraged to utilize Walt Parker Road as the primary route to access parking near Lovelace Stadium as South Bonnie Brae Street will be closed at Airport Road.
