DENTON, Texas – UNT softball hosts UT Arlington for a midweek battle Wednesday at 6 p.m. on ESPN+ from Lovelace Stadium.
The Mean Green (19-9, 2-4 AAC) collected an 8-6 comeback road victory over Wichita State Friday before it dropped the next two games to the Shockers. Elizabeth Moffitt tallied a pair of three-hit games in the series including five consecutive at-bats with a hit. She now holds the longest streak of consecutive at-bats in a hit in all of Division I this season.
UTA (15-10, 4-2 WAC) enters the matchup as winners in five of its past six games with a midweek home game versus Houston Christian on Tuesday night.
The meeting with UT Arlington marks the second of the season for North Texas and its 35th in modern program history, which began in 2004. The Mean Green hold a 23-11 record in the modern program era after a 6-4 win in its last meeting with the Mavericks on Feb. 23.
In the first matchup, Cierra Simon collected a solo home run and Madison Conley tallied a two-run double in the fifth inning to lead UNT to victory while Skylar Savage spun a seven-inning complete game.
