The Aggies (26-5, 6-3 SEC) collected its second SEC series win over then-No. 24 Alabama with a 9-7 comeback victory Sunday. North Texas has 12 comeback wins this season and is tied for the fourth-most in Division I while Texas A&M is tied for sixth with 11 come-from-behind victories.

In the second meeting of the year, then-redshirt freshman Kayleigh Smith held the Aggies scoreless over the final two innings on April 17, 2024. The Mean Green fell in each game last season and last defeated the Aggies on Feb. 9, 2019.
