DENTON — The UNT men's basketball team signed rising senior all-conference transfer forward Dylan Arnett on Friday.
The veteran big man is following his head coach Daniyal Robinson from Cleveland State to the Mean Green. Robinson was hired as North Texas' next head coach on April 4.
Arnett is one of Cleveland State's all-time best big men. In his three seasons at CSU Arnett played in 92 games and ranks in the top 10 in program history in numerous categories. He will join UNT having made 72 consecutive starts over the previous two years. This past season Arnett led CSU to 23 wins, its most wins in 14 years. He was voted 2025 Third Team All-Horizon League and to the conference's 2025 All-Defensive Team.
"We are super excited to welcome Dylan Arnett to the Mean Green family," Robinson said. "Dylan brings high energy, athleticism, and experience to our front line. On the court, he can initiate offense, finish at the rim and offensive rebound at a high rate. During our three years at Cleveland State with him he made improvements every season, earning him Horizon All-Conference and a spot on the Horizon All-Defensive team this past season. Off the floor, Dylan is a high character young man with passion for helping others. He represented our team in Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and volunteered in many community outreach initiatives. Academically, he excelled in the classroom earning a spot on the Dean's list. We look forward to his impact on and off court in Denton."
Arnett was one of just three players in the nation last year to average 11.3 points, 7.1 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.3 blocks per game and shoot 61.6 percent from the floor. He more than doubled his scoring average from the previous season.
He owns two of Cleveland State's top 10 single season field goal percentages. Last year he blocked 46 shots, which was the seventh most single season blocks in program history. In his three years at CSU Arnett blocked 95 total shots, which also ranked seventh in program history.
The Chicago native has had six career double doubles and has scored a career high 20 points twice, including this past year in their first-round victory in the 2025 College Basketball Invitational against Queens (NC). Arnett's single game career high for rebounds is 15 in a league win at Purdue Fort Wayne.
Arnett will join UNT with one year of eligibility remaining.
