PHILADELPHIA – The UNT men's basketball team is in The City of Brotherly Love Sunday aiming to extend its current win streak and build off the Thursday night home win over Memphis.
The Mean Green (14-11, 5-7) and Temple Owls (15-9, 7-4) are scheduled to tip-off inside the Liacouras Center at 1 p.m. CT on Sunday. The game will be broadcast on the Mean Green Sports Network, presented by Learfield on KHYI 95.3 FM and on ESPN+.
North Texas is coming off a 76-69 home win over Memphis for its second straight victory. Sunday they'll take on a Temple team looking to bounce back after a 77-66 road loss at Tulane on Wednesday. This will be the first and only regular season matchup this year between the Mean Green and Owls. The two programs split their two meetings last season with Temple getting the better of North Texas in the most recent matchup, 66-61 in Philadelphia, in what was the season's last regular season game. The five-point loss snapped a then seven-game win streak for UNT.
Temple and North Texas have only met three times with all three previous matchups coming after the Mean Green joining the American in 2023. UNT leads the all-time series history 2-1 but is 0-1 at the Owls' Liacouras Center.
After Sunday's road game the Mean Green return home to the Super Pit to host Tulane on Thursday. North Texas has just three remaining home games left on its schedule.
