DENTON – Mean Green softball welcomes No. 6 Oklahoma to a sold-out Lovelace Stadium Tuesday at 6 p.m. with streaming coverage on ESPN+.
UNT (10-12) collected three wins at the Jeannine McHaney Memorial Classic in Lubbock, Texas, with victories over Abilene Christian and Detroit Mercy while scoring a total of 48 runs over five games.
On Monday, junior Madison Conley was named to the weekly American Conference Honorable Mention list after she led the UNT offense with seven hits, including three doubles and two home runs, an OPS of 1.754 and 16 total bases with zero strikeouts.
Oklahoma (19-2) enters the midweek matchup with an eight-game winning streak as it defeated Alabama State three times, Sam Houston twice and Southeastern Louisiana at Love's Field over the weekend.
Tuesday's game marks the first since April 20, 2022, when UNT lost 10-0 in six innings at Lovelace Stadium. The Mean Green last win over the Sooners was on Feb. 29, 2020, at the OU Softball Complex when it notched a 4-3 victory.
Due to the final phases of construction to the new UNT Softball Clubhouse as well as the ongoing efforts of the City of Denton Bonnie Brae Street and TxDOT I-35 projects, both travel and parking for home games at Lovelace Stadium will be affected this season. Parking and/or tailgating beyond the right field fence will be impacted due to the current construction footprint of the UNT Softball Clubhouse and the adjacent City of Denton Bonnie Brae project.
