Softball Plays ACU, Charlotte in Four-Game Week

DENTON – UNT softball is set for a four-game week as it hosts Abilene Christian at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Lovelace Stadium before traveling to Charlotte for an American Conference series beginning Friday at 5 p.m. CT, with streaming coverage of all games on ESPN+.

The Mean Green (18-14, 8-1 American) won its third-consecutive conference series of the season Sunday at UTSA and are tied for the best nine-game league start in program history after it reached the same mark in 2014 and 2024.
Junior Madison Conley earned her second weekly American Conference Honorable Mention selection of the season after she led North Texas with a .545 batting average (6-for-11) and nine total bases.
ACU (4-26, 1-2 WAC) dropped its previous two games – both at the Jeannine McHaney Memorial Classic in Lubbock, Texas – against UNT this season with a 10-2 loss in five innings on Feb. 27, before it fell 16-6 on Feb. 28.
The Wildcats have lost three of its past five games with wins over UT Arlington on Saturday and RV Utah on March 12. The Mean Green lead the series 12-3 with a 4-1 mark at Lovelace Stadium.
North Texas opens a three-game series against Charlotte (17-15, 4-5 American) at Sue M. Daughtridge Stadium beginning Friday at 5 p.m. CT, with game two set for Saturday at noon CT and game three Sunday at 11 a.m. CT.
The 49ers collected a road sweep at UAB on Sunday and will host Radford at home on Wednesday night. UNT trails Charlotte 8-14 in the all-time series, including a 2-7 mark on the road. The Mean Green have not won a game or series in Charlotte since March 26, 2022.
