ABILENE, Texas – UNT softball will meet Abilene Christian at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Poly Wells Field with streaming coverage on WAC International for its final road midweek contest of the season.
The Mean Green (24-19, 13-5 American) collected its fifth American Conference series win of the season over East Carolina on Saturday and sit second place in the league standings.
Junior Madison Conley notched her fourth weekly acknowledgment from the American as she earned an honorable mention nod for conference player of the week. She reached base safely in seven of her 14 plate appearances including a home run and a double, adding a team-high four walks.
ACU (6-32, 3-6 WAC) dropped two of three home conference games to Utah Valley last weekend, capped by an 8-7 loss Saturday in which the Wolverines tallied all eight runs in the final three innings.
North Texas leads the all-time series 13-3 which included three wins this season, most recently a 5-3 victory at Lovelace Stadium on March 25. Kaycee Slovak posted three RBI while Conley scored three runs, including a key home run in the fifth inning.
