Cranmer Posts Three Hits Against No. 14 Ragin' Cajuns

Lafayette, LA (4/23/05) Freshman Kristina Fowler held No. 14 Louisiana-Lafayette scoreless for five innings, but a home run in the sixth gave the Ragin’ Cajuns a 1-0 win on Saturday afternoon at Ragin’ Cajuns Park.
The Mean Green (10-27, 3-7) lost the second game, 12-1. The Ragin’ Cajuns’ (36-7, 10-0) have won 31 straight conference games.
Fowler (7-14) pitched seven innings in the first game, allowing one run off five hits. She held UL Lafayette scoreless until Ashley Evans hit a solo homer in the sixth inning. Brooke Mitchell (23-6) held the Mean Green to just two hits over seven innings. The senior struck out 13
Seniors Stephanie Cranmer and Brittiny Chapman posted the only hits for
UL Lafayette posted five home runs to produce all of its runs in a 12-1 mercy rule in the second game.
Senior Mandy Hacker knocked in the Mean Green’s only run in the first inning of the second game. Fowler scored from third off Hacker’s groundout after getting hit by a pitch. Cranmer moved her to third with a double.
