Mean Green Softball To Face No. 18 Baylor Tonight

Waco (4/27/06) - The North Texas softball team travels to Waco today to face No. 18 Baylor at 6 pm tonight. The Mean Green has lost its last four straight and is 0-4 in the series against the Bears.
The Mean Green (18-30) is taking a break from conference play after going 0-3 this past weekend against Louisiana-Lafayette. Baylor is 33-17 and ranked No. 18 in the USA Today/NFCA Top 25 poll. North Texas will play a ranked opponent for the second week in a row. NT is 0-8 this season against ranked teams.
Susan Waters hit a three-run home run last year in the 9-7 loss to Baylor at home. The Mean Green came back from a 6-0 deficit to score seven runs in the loss. This year, Water is ranked 12th among Division I schools with 15 home runs. She is NT's single-season and career record holder in home runs.
North Texas finishes its regular season on the road. The Mean Green has two more conference opponents to face (Troy and Western Kentucky) before heading to Miami for the conference tournament.
