Cowgirls Defeat Mean Green, 9-0

Stillwater, OK (2/20/07) - The Oklahoma State softball team defeated North Texas, 9-0, on Tuesday afternoon at Cowgirl Stadium. The Cowgirls used seven hits and six walks to take a five-inning run-rule victory.
The Mean Green (3-8) has lost five straight and is now 2-3 in the series with Oklahoma State.
Jessica Hoppock picked up her sixth win in the circle for the Cowgirls, pitching four scoreless innings. She allowed only one hit, a single by Kadie Platt in the fourth inning. Sophomore Ashley Lail (2-3) took the loss for the Mean Green.
OSU scored six runs in the first two innings to take an early lead. In the first inning, the Cowgirls scored three runs off two hits, two walks and a wild pitch. North Texas walked two more batters in the second inning, leading to three more runs. OSU was aided by two hits and three Mean Green errors.
North Texas returns to action on Wednesday, Feb. 21 when it has its home opener against Nicholls State at 1 pm at Lovelace Stadium.
