Softball Hosts Oklahoma State Tonight

DENTON (2/20/08) - The North Texas softball team hosts Oklahoma State tonight at 5 pm at Lovelace Stadium. The Mean Green (3-5) has lost its last three games, while the Cowgirls (7-3) have won their last five.
The Mean Green is 2-3 in the series against Oklahoma State. On Feb. 20 of last year, the Mean Green lost to the Cowgirls, 9-0, in Stillwater.
Four of the five Mean Green losses this season have been by one or two-run deficits.Two of NT’s three wins have been shutouts. Kristina Fowler and Jennifer Smith both pitched one-hit shutouts to lead the Mean Green to victory. The Mean Green recorded two shutouts during the 2007 season.
Lauren Bergstrom is leading the team with a .421 batting average. She is tied for the team lead with eight hits. Freshman Mariza Martinez and Mallory Cantler also have eight hits. Cantler leads the team with six RBI.
