Fowler Posts Two Doubles In Loss To No. 3 Aggies

College Station, TX (2/24/08) Senior Kristina Fowler posted two doubles, but the North Texas softball team was not able to hold off third-ranked Texas A&M in a 9-1 loss on Sunday afternoon at the Aggie Softball Complex. The Mean Green finished the Texas A&M Invitational with a 1-4 record.
The Mean Green falls to 5-9 overall and 0-4 against the Aggies. The No. 3 Aggies extend their record to 16-2.
Fowler scored the Mean Green’s only run of the game. She recorded one of her doubles to get on base. Sophomore Sarah Jones knocked her home with a single. The Aggies scored nine runs in six innings, ending the game on a run-rule.
Fowler led the team in the tournament with a .571 batting average and three extra-base hits. Courtney Bradshaw also had two hits in today’s game. She and Fowler combined for four of NT’s seven hits in the game. Bradshaw, Fowler, Katya Muller and Kadie Platt all had four hits in the tournament.
Kayla Lawson (2-3) took the loss in the circle. She picked up the only win of the tournament with 4-3 victory against Sam Houston.
North Texas returns to action on Wednesday, Feb. 27 when it faces
