Kayla Lawson saw limited action last year as a freshman due to tendonitis but will hopefully be 100 percent by February. Last year she started 12 games, winning her first two before the tendonitis took over. She also played first base for four games.
Freshman Jennifer Smith adjusted quickly to college ball and was able to jump in right away and pitch well during the fall. She showed the ability in the fall to shut the opposition down.
