Fowler Knocks In Three Runs In Softball Victory

Norman, OK (3/2/08) Kristina Fowler knocked in three runs to lead the North Texas softball team in a come-from-behind 5-4 victory against Memphis in the OU/Residence Inn Invitational on Sunday afternoon at the OU Softball Complex. The Mean Green lost to No. 10 Oklahoma, 8-0, in the last game of the day.
The Mean Green’s record goes to 6-12 overall. NT evened its record with
North Texas entered the seventh inning against
Sophomore pitcher Kayla Lawson retired the side to pick up her third win of the season. She relieved Jennifer Smith in the sixth inning and struck out three of the five batters she faced.
Fowler, Muller and Bergstrom each posted two hits in the game. Fowler knocked in the Mean Green’s first run of the game in the third inning with a single.
D.J. Mathis pitched a one-hitter and the Sooners used three home runs to secure an 8-0 run-rule victory against
Rebecca Waters recorded NT’s only hit of the game; a single in the sixth inning.
