Mean Green Softball Splits Doubleheader With FIU

The Mean Green extends its record to 17-19 overall and 7-4 in the conference, while FIU goes to 19-23 and 5-2 in the Sun Belt.
Katya Muller posted a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to tie the game at 4-4. Sophomore Rebecca Waters knocked in the game-winning run with a single to center field, scoring Mariza Martinez who singled to get on base.
Kristina Fowler picked up her sixth win of the season, allowing four runs off eight hits in seven innings of work. The Mean Green outhit the Golden Panthers, 10-8.
Muller went 4-for-5 in the second game to lead the Mean Green offense, but Ashley Falk hit a grand slam in the fifth inning to lead FIU to an 11-8 victory. The Mean Green used a six-run third inning to take a 7-0 lead, but FIU came back with five runs in the third and fifth innings to take the win.
Courtney Bradshaw knocked in two runs and Mallory Cantler drove home one run in the second game.
North Texas returns to action with a single game against FIU on Sunday, March 30 at 12 pm in
