Muller Knocks In Game-Winning Run Against Jacks

Nacogdoches, Texas (3/5/08) Senior Katya Muller knocked in the game-winning run to give the North Texas softball team a 3-2 win against Stephen F. Austin on Wednesday night at Hoya Field. The Mean Green lost the first game of the doubleheader, 5-2.
The Mean Green improves to 7-13 overall and leads the series with the Jacks, 5-3. SFA moves to 12-10 this season.
Down 2-1 in the second game, the Mean Green loaded the bases for Taylor Johnston who knocked in the tying run with a groundout to second base. Muller followed and singled up the middle to score the winning run. The shortstop was hitless in her previous seven at-bats.

Freshman Jennifer Smith picked up her third win of the season, allowing just three hits and one earned run in seven innings of work. She struck out a season-high 11 batters. Kayla Lawson took the loss in the first game, despite giving up just one earned run.
