Softball Signee Earns Player Of The Year Honors

DENTON (6/20/08) North Texas softball signee Lisa Johnson was named the Sherman Herald Democrat 2008 All-Texomaland Softball Player of the Year following a stellar senior season in the circle and at the plate for Sherman High School.
Johnson posted an 18-12 overall record and a 9-3 mark in district play. She recorded a 1.20 ERA with 140 strikeouts. She allowed only nine earned runs in district play. At the plate, she hit a team-high .470 with 36 hits and 35 RBI.
In addition to the athletic accomplishments, Johnson was also named to the 2007-08 Texas Girls Coaches Association Academic All-State team.
