Mean Green Softball Hosts Fall Festival This Weekend

DENTON, Texas (9/24/09) - The North Texas softball team is hosting the third annual Fall Festival this weekend at Lovelace Stadium and Denia Park.
The 11-team tournament will be played over two days (September 26 and 27) at two different fields in Denton: Lovelace Stadium and Denia Park.Lovelace Stadium is the Mean Green softball team's home field and is located on campus on Bonnie Brae at the Mean Green Village. Denia Park is is located at: 1001 Parvin St. off Fort Worth Drive.
North Texas is in midst of its fall season. The Mean Green defeated the alumni last weekend and played a Wednesday night game this week against McClennan C.C.. Led by Courtney Bradshaw's three hits, NT defeated McClennan, 10-6. The junior posted a two-run homer that tied the game at 2-2 in the second inning. Renae Bromley knocked in two runs in the fourth inning with a double to give North Texas the lead. She posted two doubles in the game. Freshman Brittany Simmons pitched the entire game and gave up 11 hits over nine innings of work.
