Mean Green Softball Opens Up Conference Play This Weekend

Monroe, La. (3/13/10) - The North Texas softball team opens up conference play this weekend when it faces ULM. The Mean Green starts with a doubleheader on Saturday, beginning at 2 p.m.
The Mean Green is 7-8 this season and 11-4 in the series against ULM. North Texas won one out of three against the Warhawks last year.
Lisa Johnson is off to a hot start this season with a .452 batting average.As a team, North Texas is hitting .288, which is higher than any other Mean Green team in school history.
Mariza Martinez needs just one more stolen base to become the career stolen base leader at North Texas. Megan Rupp is leading the team this season in stolen bases with five.
