Blake Named To All-Greater Houston Second Team

DENTON, Texas (7/12/10) -- North Texas incoming freshman Darian Blake added to her high school softball accolades with All-Greater Houston Second Team honors. Blake, a senior on the Katy High School softball team, hit .454, posted five triples and stole 22 bases.
Blake and the Katy softball team finished second in the district and advanced to the Class 5A region semifinals in 2010. The Tigers lost to Pearland twice in the semifinals to end their season with a record of 26-11. Blake was second on the team with a .454 batting average and 22 stolen bases. She led the team with five triples. The outfielder was also selected to play in the first annual Houston Area softball all-star game in June.
Blake will join the Mean Green as a freshman for the 2010-11 school year. She joins Kailee Carr, Jordan Terry and Jackie Miller who all signed during the early signing period as incoming freshmen.
