Wounded Warrior Project Charity Game Is Set
1/19/2011 12:00:00 AM | Softball
North Texas and Missouri are facing each other for the first time. Missouri has advanced to back-to-back College World Series. Each team will wear charity T-shirts during the games instead of their uniforms.
The Mean Green softball program has hosted two charity games each season for the last three years. Through t-shirt sales and donations, the North Texas softball team has raised more than $8,000 for DFW's Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the American Cancer Society.
The Wounded Warrior Project's purpose is to raise awareness and enlist the public's aid for the needs of injured service members, to help injured service members aid and assist each other and to provide unique and direct programs and services to meet the needs of injured service members.
Admission is free in lieu of a cash donation at the gate.
Thanks in advance for your support!
