Softball Begins Two-Week Homestand With UAB On Saturday

DENTON, Texas - North Texas softball begins its two-week homestand with a doubleheader against UAB on Saturday, March 29, at 1 p.m. The event will be web streamed live on MeanGreenSports.com.
North Texas, 8-1 in Conference USA play, looks to keep pace with league frontrunner Tulsa. The Mean Green is 22-10 overall, a program-best start.

League Talk
North Texas is second in Conference USA to Tulsa with an 8-1 league record. UAB, a super regional contestant a year ago, comes into Denton with its eyes on climbing out of a four-way tie for fourth place in the competitive C-USA. 18th-ranked Tulsa is first in the league with a flawless 6-0 record.

-NT is off to its best start in program history at 22-10. Its highest win total prior to 2014 at the 10-loss mark was 13 when it started 13-10 in 2010.
-North Texas has been awarded four Conference USA Player/Pitcher of the week awards, which is tied for the most with conference rival Tulsa. Seniors Brooke Foster, Ashley Kirk, Jackie Miller and Lauren Poole have all won an award.
-NT is 24th in the nation in total offense and first in Conference USA. The bats have been hot for the Mean Green, which is averaging 6.28 runs per game.
