- The 2015 tournament field presents North Texas with three new opponents. The Mean Green will be playing Boise State, Seton Hall, and Texas Southern for the first time in program history.
- North Texas is 7-3 all-time in season opening games, including the last two in a row. The last season opening loss came in 2012 when the Mean Green fell to No. 11 Oklahoma State 2-0 in Houston.
- The Mean Green are entering its second season with Tracey Kee at the helm. Last season, she led North Texas to a 31-22 record and Conference USA Semifinal appearance.
- North Texas will enjoy opening its season inside the friendly confines of Lovelace Stadium. In 2014, the Mean Green went 18-10 at home, compared to 11-10 on the road.
- This weekend's lineup will have many new faces, as North Texas brings in five newcomers. The young team will be led by 2014 C-USA Newcomer of the Year Kat Strunk and 2015 C-USA Preseason All-Conference team members Dani Hoff and Spencer Ferrell.
