Gregory Earns NFCA All-Region Honors

DENTON - Junior shortstop Lacy Gregory was named to the National Fast Pitch Coaches Association Division I South Region Second-Team for her performance in the 2019 season. Gregory started every game for the Mean Green at shortstop, helping lead the team to its first regular season Conference USA Co-Championship.Â
"It's an honor to be recognized by the NFCA," Gregory said. "After moving to a new position it had its challenges. I'm thankful for our coaches and my teammates for trusting me to be their shortstop this season."Â
Gregory hit .319 with a team-leading 49 RBI with five home runs. She drew a career high 31 walks for a .426 OBP, the fourth highest out of Mean Green starters with at least 40 starts. She is one of 15 Conference USA players to earn NFCA All-Region honors.
She is the first Mean Green to land on the NFCA All-Region team since Kelli Schkade in 2017, and just the third Mean Green ever.Â
