Ulenaers Leads UNT Team After Two Rounds

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Redshirt junior Kristof Ulenaers played at even-par over 36 holes on Friday and sits in a tie for 21st place at The William H. Tucker Invitational at the University of New Mexico Championship Course, as the Mean Green sit in a gaggle of teams on the leaderboard.
In the opening round of the day, Ulenaers eagled the par-5 ninth hole, which was his final hole of the round, to card a 5-under-par 67, which set a new career best 18-hole score for the redshirt junior. That performance led the Mean Green, who shot a 300 in the first round.
They followed that performance with a second-round 298, as freshman Zak Karkaletsos shot a 1-over 73 to lead the team in the second round, and Viktor Forslund and Robert Garcia each shot 2-over 74s. The Mean Green are tied with Conference USA foe UTEP at 22-over par entering the final round of play on Saturday morning.
