About the Meet
The North Texas swimming and diving team returns home on Saturday to host a metroplex rival, as the Mean Green will face the SMU Mustangs. The two teams will compete in a dual format inside the Pohl Recreation Center on the North Texas campus, which will be closed to the public due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The event will get underway at 11 a.m. and be live streamed on the Mean Green's swimming and diving Facebook page with live results available through the Meet Mobile app (purchase required).

About the Matchup
The Mean Green are looking for their first win ever over the Mustangs on Saturday. SMU has won all previous contests in the matchup dating back to November 2, 1998. The Mustangs took down the Mean Green in Dallas last November by a score of 212.5-87.5.

North Texas enters the matchup with SMU after an unscored dual with the Houston Cougars on November 20-21. The Mean Green had a strong showing with multiple personal best performances highlighted by juniors Jordan Gorham notching a personal best in the mile freestyle (17:13.59), Brooke Beddingfield notching a pair of personal bests in the 100 (1:03.73) and 200 (2:17.68) breast. Freshmen Diana Kolb, Madeleine Nguyen and Tram Nguyen all had strong performances in their opening meet as collegiate swimmers and senior Meghan Miller led the way for the Mean Green divers on the boards.
