MGSD Set for Conference USA Championships

ATLANTA – North Texas swimming and diving is set and ready for the 2020 Conference USA Swimming and Diving Championships which begin Wednesday, February 26, at the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center.

The Mean Green come into the meet after finishing in third place as a team in 2019, which tied for the best finish in program history. The 2020 Championships begin with two relay finals on Wednesday starting at 3:30 CT and runs through Saturday February 29 with 16 individual championships up for grabs and one team title.

North Texas will square off with defending champion FIU, Florida Atlantic, Marshall, Old Dominion and Rice. The Mean Green have only seen the Owls in official competition this season but did participate in an exhibition invitational at Florida Atlantic during Christmas break.

The Mean Green come into the meet at a 4-3 mark on the season with wins over Arkansas-Little Rock, TCU, Incarnate Word and Northern Iowa. Also they posted a fourth-place team finish at the Kansas Classic. Â

CUSA.tv will have full broadcasts of swimming finals Thursday-Saturday night and live scoring will be made available through Atlanta Swimming for all events.
