North Texas will continue their first home stand of the 2021 season as they host the second annual North Texas Invitational this weekend at Lovelace Stadium. The Mean Green welcome in Stephen F. Austin (0-4), Incarnate Word (0-0) and Tarleton State (2-6) to Denton for a pair of matchups against both the Ladyjacks and Cardinals before finishing the weekend with one game against the Texans.

North Texas vs. Stephen F. Austin
• The Mean Green and Ladyjacks are meeting for the 19th time in the history of the two programs, with North Texas holding a 13-5 series advantage of a current streak of six wins.
• North Texas won the previous matchup with SFA during the 2017 season when they beat the Ladyjakcs 6-1 in Denton.
• SFA enters the weekend on a four-game skid to open the 2021 campaign after finishing 2020 on a 13-game win streak and led the nation in true road wins.
• SFA is led by fifth-year head coach Nicole Dickson who came to the Ladyjack softball program after a four-year stint as the head coach at Tyler Junior College.
North Texas vs. Incarnate Word
• The Mean Green and Cardinals are meeting for the third time in the history of the two programs, with the Mean Green holding wins in both of the previous matchups.
• North Texas played UIW in the last game of 2020 before the season was shutdown, the Mean Green won 11-4 in San Antonio.
• UIW is entering the weekend after their first seven games of the year have been canceled or postponed.
• UIW is led by fourth-year head coach Joe DiPietro who came to Cardinal softball after a year-long stint as an Assistant Coach at Drexel University in Philadelphia.
North Texas vs. Tarleton State
• The Mean Green and Texans are meeting for the first time ever.
• Tarleton State is playing their first season as a Division I program.
• The Texans enter the weekend after picking up their first wins as a Division I program in a doubleheader sweep over Prairie View A&M on 2/24.
• The Texans are led by fifth-year head coach Mark Cumpian who was named Tarleton States' head coach after spending six years as an assistant from 2010-16.
