Men's Golf Falls To La Tech In Match Play Dual

CARROLLTON, Texas - The North Texas men's golf team competed in a match-play dual against Conference USA foe Louisiana Tech and fell 3-1-2 at Maridoe Golf Club on Thursday.
Junior Lenny Bergsson picked up the win for the Mean Green, winning 4 & 3, while redshirt senior Sean Wilcox and freshman Diego Prone finished their matches all square.
"We needed this match today," UNT head coach Brad Stracke said. "You can try to make your practices like a tournament but nothing is like the real thing. This one-day match will help us prepare for Sunday's tournament at Trinity Forest."
The Mean Green will open their spring tournament schedule on Sunday in Dallas at the Trinity Forest Invitational, after their originally scheduled spring debut in Houston was postponed due to the winter storms last month. The tournament will mark the Mean Green's first tournament since October, when they hosted the Maridoe Collegiate Invitational.
