Marzilio Has Big Day, UNT Moves Up Five Spots

DALLAS - UNT junior Vicente Marzilio shot a 5-under 67 and is tied for fourth at 6-under par after the second round, and the Mean Green moved up five spots on the team leaderboard of the Trinity Forest Invitational on Monday at Trinity Forest Golf Club.

Marzilio bogeyed the fourth hole and then reeled off six birdies from the sixth hole on for his 67 and is three shots behind a pair of leaders tied at 9-under par heading into Tuesday's final round. The Mean Green sit at 5-over in a tie for ninth with Sam Houston, two shots back of eighth-place Florida Atlantic. Marzilio's 11 birdies is tied for second in the field in total birdies through two rounds.

UNT will be paired on Tuesday with Loyola Marymount and New Mexico and will have tee times from the 10th hole beginning at 8:35 a.m.

Fans can follow the event live on Golfstat or go support the team in person at Trinity Forest Golf Club in Dallas in what is the team's only local tournament this season.
