Marzilio Named C-USA Golfer of the Week

DALLAS - Vicente Marzilio fired back-to-back 5-under-par 67s to close out the Trinity Forest Invitational in Dallas on Tuesday at 11-under par and in a tie for second place at the prestigious event.
The performance earned him a nod for Conference USA Golfer of the Week, presented by Blenders Eyewear, the league announced on Wednesday. It's the third Golfer of the Week award in his career.
The UNT junior was the clubhouse leader before being beaten by two shots after his final round was completed. Marzilio tied to lead the field with 16 birdies, including a 32-hole stretch to close out his tournament without a bogey. He shot a 71-67-67-205 to claim his best finish since winning the Conference USA championship as a freshman.
The team will resume action as it wraps up its fall schedule at the Little Rock Invitational on Oct. 17-18.
