
North Texas Ready for Tilt with Tulsa

DENTON, Texas – North Texas women's basketball (17-12) will host the Tulsa Hurricanes (16-10) inside the Super Pit on Thursday at 7 p.m. (CT) in the First Round of the WNIT. The game will air on ESPN3 and Zac Babb will have the call on KNTU 88.1 FM.
The Hurricanes feature five scorers that average better than 10 points per game. Tulsa also boasts the American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year in Temira Poindexter.
The 2021-22 women's basketball team reached new heights under Jalie Mitchell's direction. For only the second time in school history, the Mean Green have notched back-to-back double digit conference wins in the regular season. The 16 regular season wins this year is the most since 2018-19. This is the second postseason for North Texas with Mitchell at the helm.
With a win on Thursday, the Mean Green will play the winner of Idaho State and Wyoming. Date, location, and time is still to be determined for the Round of 32 of the WNIT.
