Gamble Named Among Nation's Best

DENTON – North Texas softball junior first baseman Kailey Gamble has been named to the D1Softball Preseason D100 and Extra Inning Softball Extra Elite 100 as one of the top players in the country entering the 2023 season.
Gamble is a two-time All-Conference USA selection, capturing first team honors in 2022 after starting all 53 games for the Mean Green. She led the team with 16 home runs, 106 total bases, 52 RBI, .693 slugging percentage, 1.102 OPS and 430 putouts, each a top five, single-season mark in program history.
Ranking No. 96 on the D1 softball preseason list, Gamble is joined as one of three honorees from C-USA and the second-highest ranked player from the league. She is also listed at No. 96 on the Extra Inning Softball Extra Elite 100.
UNT will begin its season with a doubleheader at the Buzz Classic in Atlanta against UIC and Saint Francis on Feb. 10 at 9 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. CT, respectively.
