Men's Golf Opens Play In Arkansas

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The UNT men's golf team opened play at The Blessings Collegiate on Monday with a 29-over-par 317.

The Mean Green were led on the first day by senior Cody Winkler, who is tied for 34th at 5-over par, on the par-72, 7,720-yard Blessings Golf Club.

The event features a unique twist in that men's and women's teams from each participating school are playing and a combined team trophy will be awarded aside from the men's and women's crowns. It is also featured on Golf Channel and Peacock, with live broadcasts on each of the three days from 3:30-6:30 p.m.

The Mean Green will tee off for Tuesday's second round from the tenth hole at 10:30 a.m.
