3/1/2023 10:29:00 PM | Softball
AUSTIN, Texas – Kailey Gamble tallied her league-leading seventh home run as UNT softball fell 4-2 to No. 15 Texas on Wednesday.
The Mean Green (10-5) provided the Longhorns (12-2-1) with a tight matchup but were not able to secure the win.
"This team is close," head coach Rodney DeLong said. "We can absolutely play; we just have to learn how to play a complete game against great teams. We will stay on the grind and continue to improve."
Mackenzie Childers was tabbed for her first career start against the Longhorns. She pitched 3.0 innings and gave up two earned runs in her first career loss. McKenzie Wagoner followed Childers in the circle and posted 3.0 shutout innings.
