HUMBLE, Texas - The UNT men's golf team concluded play at the All-American Intercollegiate on Tuesday at the Golf Club of Houston, finishing in a three-way tie for 10th place, two shots back of ninth-place Louisiana Tech.
The Mean Green were led by junior Vicente Marzilio, who tied for 27th at 4-over par, while fellow juniors Tucker Allen and Diego Prone tied for 33rd at 5-over after Prone had the best round of the day for the team with a 1-under 71.
"The guys got off to a great start again this event being tied for third place after the first round," UNT coach Brad Stracke said. "There are a lot of great things we are seeing, but still plenty to improve upon for these next two events leading into conference. In a great field, our team proved that they can play with some of the best teams in the country. We are looking forward to getting back to work these next two weeks to work on our games and get ready for the Aggie Invitational."
In the All-American Individual Tournament, graduate student Lenny Bergsson tied for seventh at 4-over, after shooting a 75-71-74.
The Mean Green will get back to competition on April 8-9, at the Aggie Invitational in Bryan, Texas.
