Softball Falls to UAB on Friday

DENTON – Ashley Peters threw a complete-game as UNT softball lost 1-0 to UAB on Friday night at Lovelace Stadium.
Peters pitched 7.0 innings with five strikeouts while she allowed one run, zero earned, on three hits and no walks. Her outing lowered her ERA to a team-best mark of 1.52 for the season.
The Mean Green (19-15, 5-5) outhit its opponent but stranded nine base runners in the opening game of the series. A pair of errors in the top of the sixth inning helped the Blazers (18-16, 6-4) to capture a conference road win.
Rylee Nicholson led North Texas offensively as she finished 2-for-3 with a double off the left-center field wall in the fifth and added a walk.

Due to inclement weather forecasted for Sunday, UNT will play a doubleheader versus UAB beginning at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Lovelace Stadium. The first game will be broadcast on ESPN+ while the second will stream on ESPN 3. Mean Green fans can purchase tickets HERE.
