Peters Named Conference USA Pitcher of the Week

DALLAS – Ashley Peters has been awarded as Conference USA Pitcher of the Week after she led UNT with two complete-game wins over Florida Atlantic, the league announced on Monday.
The C-USA Preseason Pitcher of the Year collected her second weekly award of the season and fourth of her career. North Texas is tied for the league lead with five weekly award winners.
Peters allowed one run on eight hits and two walks over 17 innings pitched. She closed the undefeated weekend with a 0.41 ERA and nine strikeouts. On Sunday, she threw her third career complete-game shutout over nine innings to set a new career high.
She enters the final week of regular season play with top-10 career marks of 295 2/3 innings pitched, 32 wins, 17 complete games, 258 strikeouts and 2.11 ERA.
The Mean Green host No. 7 Oklahoma State at Lovelace Stadium on Wednesday at 6 p.m. Tickets for the game are sold out with live coverage on ESPN+.
