Men's Golf Opens Play in Florida

BOWLING GREEN, Fla. - The UNT men's golf team opened play on Monday at the Streamsong Invitational by shooting a 5-under-par 287 and enter Tuesday's second round in sixth place in the event - just one shot back of fifth.
The Mean Green were led once again by senior Tucker Allen, who shot a 3-under 70 in the opening round to put himself in a tie for 10th after one day, and he was followed by fellow seniors Diego Prone (2-under) and Cody Winkler (1-under) as UNT players who carded subpar scores on Monday. Prone and Winkler and tied for 14th and 18th, respectively.
Allen carded six birdies on the day to lead the team, as he sits four shots back of the leaders at 7-under par entering Round 2.
The Mean Green will be paired with Elon and Lipscomb's B squad and Round 2 will begin Tuesday at 7:30 a.m., with a shotgun start.
