Women’s Tennis Set for UCA Fall Invite

Mean Green hit the road for the first time in the fall season
CONWAY, Ark. – Coming off a strong first weekend at home to open the fall season, UNT will hit the road for the first time when they travel to Conway, Ark., to compete in the UCA Invite starting Friday and running through Saturday at Conway Tennis Center.
The Mean Green kicked off the fall season two weeks ago in the Diving Eagle Invite where they posted an impressive 24-16 overall mark that included a 17-11 record in singles play.
The tournament, hosted by Central Arkansas, will consist of Missouri State, Northwestern State, Austin Peay and Southeastern Louisiana.
As is the case for all fall tournaments, UNT players will compete individually as this will be their final opportunity to tune up their skills for the ITA Regional in Waco, Texas, Oct. 12-16.
Through one tournament, Stanislava Shulzhenko, Carolina Laydner and Olivia Malm lead the way with 3-1 records thus far this fall. All other players on the team have won at least two singles matchups.
In doubles play, the combination of Lou Chalard and Laydner also posted an impressive 3-1 record in the opening competition.
