DENTON — The UNT men's basketball team returns home to host Texas Wesleyan Thursday night at the Super Pit at 7 p.m. CT.
The game will be broadcast on the Mean Green Sports Network, presented by Learfield and on ESPN+.
The Mean Green (3-1) have won their first two games at home this season and have scored exactly 80 points in each of them. They'll take on a Rams (4-1) squad they haven't played since 2019 and have only played twice in the last 40 seasons. UNT beat Texas Wesleyan 102-64 on Dec. 28, 2019. The Mean Green had four different players score in double figures, Deng Geu finished with an 11-point and 11-rebound performance.
Through four games North Texas is holding its opponents to an average of 55 points per game, which ranks 13th in the nation as of Wednesday. Opponents are shooting just 28.6 percent from deep against the Mean Green.
Three UNT players are averaging double digit scoring through the first four games, led by senior Atin Wright who is pouring in 11.8 points per game and shooting 40 percent from deep. Senior Johnathan Massie is right behind Wright as he's averaging 10.3 points per game and has a team-leading 7.5 rebounds per game.
