
Men's Basketball Wraps Up Non-Conference Slate Sunday

Sunday's game is scheduled to tip-off at 2 p.m. CT and will be broadcast on the Mean Green Sports Network, presented by Learfield and on ESPN+.
The Mean Green (8-3) head into the contest having won two straight games, both at home. On Friday North Texas beat App State 68-64 to improve to 6-0 in its home arena this season.
The Huskies (4-8, 1-1 SLC) have won two of their last four including a 74-68 road win over ULM on Tuesday. Most recently, Houston Christian fell 77-45 at No. 12 Texas A&M on Friday. HCU is led by first-year head coach Craig Doty who for the previous six seasons served as DII Emporia State's head coach, leading the Hornets to a combined 97-76 record. Doty won two NJCAA DIII National Championships prior to his stint at Emporia State.
North Texas leads the all-time series history with Houston Christian, 7-1. UNT has won four straight games over the Huskies. They last played on Dec. 17, 2020 with the Mean Green winning 85-55. UNT point guard Javion Hamlet scored a game-high 19 points and had 10 assists in the win.
After Sunday's contest the Mean Green will have an eight-day break before they start conference play with a home game against reigning American Athletic Conference Tournament champion UAB on Dec. 31. That game is scheduled to tip-off at 3 p.m. CT and will be broadcast on the Mean Green Sports Network, presented by Learfield and on ESPNU.
