
Softball Hosts UTA on Wednesday

DENTON, Texas – UNT softball welcomes UT Arlington for its first midweek matchup of the season at 6 p.m. on Wednesday at Lovelace Stadium. The game can be followed at meangreenstats.com.
The Mean Green (7-7) captured four wins at the UNT Invite highlighted by a no-hit performance over eight innings from sophomore Mackenzie Childers against New Mexico on Saturday. Childers was named to the American Athletic Conference Honor Roll on Monday. She currently ranks 40th in the country with a mark of 8.8 strikeouts per seven innings.
UTA (3-12) enters Wednesday on a six-game losing streak and have lost eight of its last nine, including a pair of losses to No. 15 Arkansas.
North Texas holds a 20-11 mark over the Mavericks and have won five of the previous seven meetings. The Mean Green are 10-2 against UTA at Lovelace Stadium with its last loss on March 3, 2018, the last season before Rodney DeLong took over as UNT head coach.
