Winkler's 66 Leads Way For Men's Golf on Final Day

HENDERSON, Nev. - Senior Cody Winkler shot a 6-under 66 to lead the UNT men's golf team as it wrapped up play at the Lake Las Vegas Intercollegiate on Wednesday at Reflection Bay Golf Club. The Mean Green shot the sixth-best round of the day with a 9-under 279 to finish in a tie for seventh place, while senior Tucker Allen tied for 12th at 4-under par.

For the week, the Mean Green were led by Allen, who finished up with a final-round 72 after back-to-back 70s on Monday and Tuesday. Senior Diego Prone tied for 25th at 2-under par with Winkler, who was 6-under on the front-nine Wednesday with the help of an eagle on Par-4 second hole and moved 50 spots up the leaderboard.

UNT will get back to competition March 11-12 in Tallahassee, Florida, in the Seminole Collegiate.
