The Mean Green will head to Florida to compete in a strong field at the Seminole Intercollegiate, hosted by Florida State.
THE EVENT: Seminole Legacy Golf Club will play at 7,505 yards, and will be a par-72 course for the tournament. The two-day event begins Monday and concludes Tuesday with 36 holes set for Monday and the final 18 scheduled for Tuesday.
THE FIELD: There are 14 teams participating in the tournament: No. 9 Arkansas, Boston College, No. 12 Florida State, High Point, Indiana, No. 22 Mississippi State, North Alabama, No. 7 Ole Miss, Southern Illinois, Stetson, Troy, UAB, UNT and No. 47 VCU.
REPRESENTING UNT: Competing for the Mean Green will be Tucker Allen, Cody Winkler, Diego Prone, Harry Lord and Key Coker.
RESULTS: Live results will be posted on Golfstat. Full recaps from each day of competition will be posted on MeanGreenSports.com at the end of each round.
INTERNATIONAL FLAVOR: The Mean Green feature seven international players this year. Rafael Estrada (Mexico), Nikhil Gopal (South Africa), Harry Lord (England), Diego Prone (Argentina), Simon Roessler (Chile), Alvaro Roldos (Spain) and Philippe Thorin (Ecuador) round out the international players. Meanwhile, four players (Tucker Allen, Preston Holmes, Key Coker and Cody Winkler) are native Texans.
UP NEXT: UNT will host the North Texas Intercollegiate on April 15-16, at Maridoe Golf Club in Carrollton.
HOME SWEET HOME: The Mean Green golf programs are thrilled to have the Bruzzy's UNT Golf Practice Facility, which is a $3 million on-campus facility that features state-of-the-art technology, such as TrackMan, swing catalysts, indoor hitting bays, a short-game area and a PuttView indoor putting green.
