DENTON, Texas – UNT softball welcomes RV Florida Atlantic to Lovelace Stadium for an American Athletic Conference series beginning on Friday at 6 p.m. Game two is set for 2 p.m. on Saturday and game three on Sunday at noon with the full series streamed live on ESPN+.
North Texas (21-17, 10-5) postponed its scheduled doubleheader at Texas A&M-Commerce on Wednesday after suffering its first American Athletic Conference series loss of the season at UAB. The Mean Green are tied for second place in The American but hold the tiebreaker over Tulsa after a sweep of the Golden Hurricane on March 24.
RV Florida Atlantic (32-9, 12-3) have won eight of its last 10 games including a conference series win at Charlotte on Sunday to take a two-game lead in The American. The league-leading Owls received votes in both the Softball America and USA Today/NFCA national polls this week.
The Mean Green downed the Owls in a three-game road sweep last season and are 5-1 record during head coach Rodney DeLong's tenure in Denton. UNT leads the overall series 24-15 and have not lost a season series against FAU since 2011.
