Mean Green Fall at Tulsa 4-1

UNT wins doubles point for 14th time this season
TULSA, Okla. – The UNT tennis team won the doubles point for the 14th time in 22 tries this season, but could not grab a victory in singles as they fell 4-1 on the road against Tulsa at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center Friday afternoon.
With the loss, North Texas drops to 10-12 overall this season with one match remaining in the regular season.
In doubles play, UNT dropped the decision at line one 6-1 and needed to come from behind to win the doubles point.
The Mean Green did just that, winning both lines two and three to grab the doubles point for the 14th time in 22 matches this season.
At line three, Marina Adati and Lou Chalard grabbed a strong 6-4 victory to tie things up at 1-1. The duo is now 2-1 in dual play as a tandem this season.
In a tightly contested battle at line two, Stadfany Nformi and Lilly Schultz needed a tiebreak point to come away with a 7-6 (8-6) victory and clinch the doubles point for UNT.
In singles play, the Mean Green were unable to grab a victory at any line in the match.
Chalard was well on her way to picking up 10th singles win of the season, but the match was called off with Chalard holding a 6-3, 5-3 advantage at line four.
UNT will return to action Saturday for the regular season finale in Tulsa as they take on Temple at 2:00 PM.
