Savage Collects Second AAC Weekly Award

Savage becomes the sixth player in UNT history with multiple Pitcher of the Week wins
IRVING, Texas – UNT softball's Skylar Savage was named American Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week after she recorded two wins in a doubleheader sweep of Wichita State on Friday, the league announced on Monday.
She is the third two-time winner across The American this season after UNT sophomore Mackenzie Childers and Wichita State freshman Chloe Barber each accomplished the feat. Savage is the sixth player in program history to win multiple conference pitcher of the week awards in her career.
On the week, Savage tallied two wins including a combined shutout with McKenzie Wagoner in game two on Friday versus the Shockers. In total, she spun 8 2/3 scoreless innings with five strikeouts. She allowed zero runs on 10 hits, none for extra bases, and six walks.
In conference games, Savage ranks second in the league with a 1.85 earned runs average over 60 2/3 innings with 40 strikeouts. She is tied for second with seven wins against opponents from The American, including four shutouts.
North Texas finishes its season at Charlotte beginning at 5 p.m. CT on Friday on ESPN+ from Sue M. Daughtridge Stadium. The three-game set is scheduled for first pitch at noon CT on Saturday and Sunday.
